Impact: Improving mood with psychoanalytic and cognitive therapy

Thank you for visiting the website of the IMPACT trial. IMPACT launched in 2010 and is a study comparing three treatments for depression which we know can work and are widely used. We want to know which treatment works best for different kinds of people, so that in the future people with depression get the treatment that is most likely to help them.

IMPACT is the largest study of its kind and aims to recruit 540 young people who need treatment for moderate to severe depression. Volunteers are being recruited from 18 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) clinics across East Anglia, North London and the North West. Volunteers receive one of three different treatments for depression, and meet regularly with researchers to see how they're getting on.
